Our first appointment with a fertility specialist

This is an in-depth post, might be TMI for some of you, but for others I have decided to completely one hundred percent open. We went to the Beach Center for Infertility here in Virginia Beach, Dr. Flood was delightful and made Jeff and I feel very comfortable. She began asking us a series of medical history and all that fun get-to-know-you kinds of questions. She took my blood and will be performing a series of tests on it to try and pin point what exactly is going on with my body. Given that I have been "irregular" since I first started out at 14 she is leaning towards an insulin problem, but will be testing me for everything from PCOS(which she is 90% sure I have) to thyroid issues. She has decided to pull me off all of my medicine next month and monitor me very closely and see if my body ovulates on it's own and if so perform a post-coital test to see Jeff's swimmers and how they perform in "the environment" with my mucus(to see if artificial insemination is necessary). If all of the tests come back normal I will go on for an HSG test and an endometrial biopsy to rule out blocked tubes and endometriosis. I feel fantastic right now, I am confident that this doctor will find what is wrong and help Jeff and I finally become parents. All of your warm wishes. thoughts, prayers, and tolerance of my mood swings are MUCH appreciated. We could not do this without you all!
